State Tournament
Each spring, the Tennessee High School Speech and Drama League hosts a statewide speech and debate competition. This year, the method through which students qualify for the state tournament has changed.
Students must now obtain bid points by attending tournaments across the state that use THSSDL rules for events.

2027 State Tournament
The 2027 state tournament will be hosted by district five. Dates and location are still pending.
THSSDL awards three $600 Kathleen Thayer Beach Memorial Scholarships to graduating seniors. The application to nominate students for the scholarships can be found here.
